PIC Update and some good stuff

If you are/were a frequent visitor of partners-inc.nl, you might have noticed that activity has dropped a little (lot) in the recent month(s). Things have changed in our personal- and working life, causing us to shift our energy elsewhere for a while. As the topics and motives behind partners-inc are still actual to anyone ever, I do come across things that are definately worth sharing...

Happiness symposium 2008

Last year, partners-inc helped out to organize Happiness symposium 2007 - a Market for Happiness.

That was a great succes, but there's always room for improvement...

This year, Arjan Haring has picked up the pace even more, and the symposium is already very impressive!

Goulden sunday - happiness part 16

Happiness #16

At the beginning, of this opus on the theme of "happiness," I said I wanted to see where it would take me. It has, finally, lead to the term "love." I shall now attempt to describe its relationship to happiness. It seems simple enough, but....

I love you! I love you! I love you! I love you!

A simple three word sentence, but you can get four different perspectives by individually emphazing each word separately. And I have left out the aural affect of inflections and sound modulations made with the human voice.

Waking Wednesday - On hold for now

After discussing the future of the Partners-Inc site with Mike yesterday we decided to change the format a little. I will still be contributing my perspectives on happiness as they arise, but the Waking Wednesday format is on hold for now. Thank you so much to those of you who check in each week to read my entries, and feel free to pop by my blog to check out other writing projects that are on the go. Ask Amsterdam will go on, so stay tuned for the upcoming interviews! Have a happy day! :)

Goulden sunday - happiness part 15

What Is Happiness?

It has occured to me that I have only indirectly discussed, so far in this discourse, the four letter words. No, not f*** nor s***, but love and hate.

Waking Wednesday - Cautionary Tales

Sometimes all we need is a little explosion to wake us up. Last week I noticed that my bicycle seemed to be functioning at a slower than normal pace. Rather than considering the relevant factors that might be slowing me down (such as the strong headwind and my lack of energy) I was quick to blame old Mabel (my omafiets, for those of you who are not yet acquainted with my bike). Although my back tire did not appear to be leaky, I pumped it full of a little extra air anyways... thinking that it would only make me go faster, faster!

Goulden Sunday on Tuesday - Happiness part 14

What is happiness?

"Here were the remnants of all that Jack aspired to, the things which he had once imagined would complete him---the rich Persian rugs, the elaborate stereo system, the hundreds of recorded operas and symphonies, the shelf of expensive wines, the photography of his trim white sailboat. Yet none of it had satisfied. For Jack had never mastered the simplest and most precious act---to occupy a space, a moment, and feel the rest." "Dark Lady," by Richard North Patterson, p. 358, Arrow Books, London, 2000).
